We call on the Federal Government of Nigeria to take urgent and sustained action to support farmers and strengthen national food security. Rising production costs, insecurity in farming communities, inadequate access to financing, poor rural infrastructure, and post-harvest losses continue to undermine agricultural productivity and contribute to rising food prices across the country. We urge the government to increase investment in agricultural development, improve access to affordable financing and inputs, strengthen security in farming regions, expand irrigation and storage facilities, and support smallholder farmers who form the backbone of Nigeria’s food system. A stronger agricultural sector is essential for economic growth, job creation, and national food security.
Strengthen National Security and Protect Nigerian Communities
We call on the Federal Government of Nigeria and relevant security institutions to implement urgent, transparent, and sustainable measures to address the growing insecurity affecting communities across the country. Rising incidents of kidnapping, terrorism, armed violence, and criminal attacks continue to threaten lives, livelihoods, education, and economic development. We urge the government to strengthen intelligence operations, improve policing and emergency response systems, increase protection for vulnerable communities, and invest in modern security infrastructure to ensure the safety and stability of all Nigerians.
